While at first I didn't know I wanted to become a counselor, I had always had a desire to serve and help others. After being encouraged by my friends and family, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. I did my internship in a community mental health agency as a Child and Family Therapist. After my internship, I took the NBCC board exam and completed the required 3,000 counseling / supervision post graduate hours for licensure. Currently, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Supervisor in Washington State with a counseling practice in the Bellevue area.
Before becoming a counselor / psychotherapist, I worked over 15 years in Corporate America. Because I enjoyed working in business, I decided to open my own counseling practice. As the founder and owner of Grace Liberty Counseling, PLLC, I am able to serve where I can support and help individuals, children, adolescents, and families move towards increased life satisfaction and healthy relationships, living healthier, more meaningful and happier lives.
I believe each individual and family has unique strengths to draw out and build upon. I am here to join with you and walk beside you towards where you hope to be. Sometimes the challenges you face can lead to stressful feelings and such feelings may overwhelm you. Your home life, your happiness, and your school or work performance can suffer. I want to help you recognize your strengths and identify the resources to cope with your challenges. I am an empathetic, dedicated person with integrity and interpersonal skills who cares for other people's needs. Because the therapeutic relationship is so important to the success of therapy, I believe it is important to build a safe, supportive, and trusting relationship between the therapist, youth, and the family.
I also consult regularly with other mental health professionals to better serve my clients. This is done in a way to maintain the utmost confidentiality. Also, I receive ongoing continuing education training and attend professional seminars.
